Nalujuk Night (2021), Dir. Jennie Williams

NFB short about a mumming tradition in a Labrador Inuit community. I do wonder if this film affected/will affect Nalujuk Noght in the same way Oss Oss Wee Oss! (1953) revived, and in some ways altered or froze, the Padstow May Day celebrations— an article I found from last year mentioned that in recent years, the event had been held indoors, but that the community reverted to doing it outdoors ‘in the more traditional way.’  Some of the score is by Tanya Tagaq.
