Yesterday at lunch I discussed The Sims, fiction-writing and Mennonites.

I think because I had to send some large packages by Fedex yesterday, I had dreams last night involving my bathroom scale being wrong and needing to buy a new one, because green_trilobite and I were living in an apartment where the rent was calculated based on the combined weight of the occupants. Then, of course, it being a frustration dream, the store only had tiny flimsy inaccurate scales, or good scales that cost the same as a month’s rent – which was due *in an hour* so I had to find a scale fast. And I had two jobs and I was late for both of them.

The Phone Call Came from Inside Your Own House!

Tonight after work, it being the first Thursday of the month, we went to the Fox's Den for SF Pub Night. It also happens to be provincial election night. Towards the end of the evening, the waitress warned us the local Liberal candidate would be using the restaurant for the election-results party, and could they use our extra tables as spillover space. Ok, fine.

Later someone noticed someone being interviewed one of the big tv screens, and realized it was happening up at the front of the pub we were in. Just lucky he didn't get reverb, really.

It was like - well, what it was very much like was sitting in a movie theatre in Toronto, watching a movie shot in Toronto, and seeing the characters walk by the very theatre in which you are watching the movie. Only live.
