And he goes into this theatre...
Yesterday boingboing linked to a review of Bryan Talbot's Alice in Sunderland, a graphic history of the town where he lives, Lewis Caroll (who came from the area), the history of the comic strip (which just sort of comes up)and a bunch of other things. Talbot draws himself wandering through time and space, talking about all this stuff. Last night green_trilobite had to photograph an event for the Merrill which turned out to be Talbot's book tour, adding a further layer to the work by being there live with a powerpoint presentation about it. Talbot looks a bit like Steve Buscemi, but with a Lancashire accent. He is fascinating and modest, and took a long time in the autograph line afterwards, drawing detailed pictures on the flyleaves without being asked to.
