My brother is getting a cat.
Dec. 27th, 2006 03:34 pmHe's talked about it for several years, and has finally gone ahead. Apparently adopting a cat from the Humane Society is almost as complicated as actually adopting a child. Andrew looked at the available cats on the Society's website; he was strongly tempted by 'Vincent and Theo' (Vincent has one ear folded down so it looks like it's missing) but didn't feel up to taking on a pair. He then had foster-home visits with the ones he thought looked promising, to see if they liked him. The one he's getting has been with his foster-human for two years - there was a changeover in management a couple of years ago and the guy suspects the Society just forgot about him and 'Peanut.' Andrew is optimistic about his new friend, who is four years old, greyish-orange, and supposedly both intelligent and laid-back (nice combination if you can find it in a cat - see Narly). Best wishes to both of them.
My parents are very excited about this.
