Sushi & Laffs

Don suddenly announced a birthday party yesterday, trusting to word of mouth to deliver
a small manageable group of friends. We had lots of sushi. Yum!
Zale gave him Cheap Laffs, a coffee-table book of classic novelty gags. Apparently
sneezing powder and the hand buzzer were both invented by one Samuel Sorenson Adams
(his patent application for the buzzer was reproduced on a page) and were the founding
of his fortune.

Um, is it just my knee-jerk feminism, or is the Tory reaction to Belinda Stronach's defection basically, "That bitch! She dumped us! and she was dating our deputy leader too - look, he's heartbroken. Come on, guys, we're better off without the high-maintenance bimbo, etc."

Since I didn't give Stronach much credibility when she was a Conservative, I'm a bit unsure how to take her joining the Liberals. Still, I'm always up for a cautious "nyah nyah" to Stephen Harper.

Probably overheard correctly, from the same guy:

"It's not like I can say, 'Excuse me sir, are you a eunuch? Were you castrated at birth to improve your singing?'"
