Apparently a bunch of Athenian lawyers are threatening to sue Oliver Stone for having portrayed Alexander as bisexual, claiming there's not enough specific historical evidence to back it up. While sexuality in the ancient world was pretty different from today's classifications, male friendships could get pretty physical without society disapproving, and I'm a little amused that the Athenians seem to be getting all offended on Alexander's behalf over something he might not have considered an insult. Then again, maybe they're actually upset because the Turks or somebody taunted them with "nyah nyah, your city got conquered by a Macedonian nancy-boy..." Ok, maybe not the Turks. I guess you'd have to go to, like, China, to find people whose ancestors weren't conquered by the aforementioned Macedonian nancy-boy.
