Freaks

Finally saw the famous movie Freaks last night. The DVD extras included a documentary on the many circus people who appear in the film, which was so interesting that I stayed up most of the night googling old-time sideshow performers. Some of the more interesting sites I turned up were this fan-site for Johnny Eck, The Amazing Half-Man (and his twin brother Rob the perfectly normal guy); these beautiful renaissance-style portraits of anomalous humans by contemporary artist James G. Mundie(who included himself in the gallery as "Portrait of an Amateur Pathologist"); and Judy Tomaini Rock's site in which she affectionately recounts stories of her parents, Jeannie and Al, "The World's Strangest Married Couple."
