Sep. 15th, 2004 09:03 pmThe BiPolarBear and I brought his Mom home from the hospital today, to her relief - she was bored out of her mind, as they wouldn't let her take photos there, due I suppose to the other patients' unreasonable demands for privacy, and possibly to the proximity to the Don Jail...
This brings a happy conclusion to a highly eventful 33 days, during which the Bear's Mom injured her hip; the Bear's new psychiatrist proscribed a much more efficacious medication than any he'd been taking; a sum of money arrived from a great-aunt's estate; Ontario Disability Services finally discovered our spousal relationship and wants to question us about it; and I was hired at a firm located about a block from the site of the Bear's Mom's accident, thus bringing things full circle.
The only awkward part is that we couldn't make the ODPS' interview, as I'm now working during business hours and didn't want to ask for a morning off on my third freakin' day at work, especially since I'm currently a trainee and they haven't actually finalized the contract yet....According to the Bear, the government employee on the other end of the phone could not be made to understand/care about the situation, but we live in hope she passed the explanation on to the appropriate caseworker, and that said party will be more intelligent.
