(Tip-off via BoingBoing) Apparently being a geek who gets in trouble with the law is still a dangerous thing. Unlike Turing, this guy actually did commit property damge - but I think he might be getting even worse punishment - thankfully, I haven't the experience to decide which is worse: being locked up for 8 years, frenquently in solitary confinement, with your books repeatedly confiscated because the prison authorities basically think you're some sort of Dr Doom evil genius who will MacGuyver bombs out of ordinary items if not kept under the strictest possible conditions; or being fired from your work with the government and made to take weird experimental hormone injections to "cure" you of being homosexual (or at least to make you feel too queasy to think about sex with anybody).
Bleaugh.
