The Yuletide fic exchange heaves into view, which means that in a few weeks I’ll likely have to put both Spooked!...in Soho and Gentleman of the Shade on hold for a couple of months (tbh, Spooked!already stalled out a couple of months back), and also that I need to start thinking about what fandoms to nominate. Iirc you can only nominate fandoms that already have at least one fic on Ao3, and fewer than one thousand, I think?

Just fewer than 1000 (and that with filters, for in English, 1k words+). It doesn't have to already have a fandom on the archive!

I wouldn’t mind reading more about Hilda if you have more to imagine—particularly because you’re just about the only writer I’ve seen who’s given her family, friends, enemies, and a whole implied Illustrationverse context.

Meanwhile, given that I'm apparently allowed to introduce fandoms with zero fics so far:

Get Crazy (movie, 1983) I can’t believe nobody's written for this one yet. The ending leaves plenty of room for further adventures with any or all of the large cast of characters. How do King Blues and his new band fare in the Motor City? Does Colin Beverly attempt revenge? What new acts do Neil and Willy book now that they own the Saturn Theater? How’s Auden’s new album going? Where are Captain Cloud and the Rainbow Telegraph (and Sammy) off to next, and how long will it take them to get there? Is Piggy still guesting with Nada and her band, or has he gnawed through his restraints? How does Reggie Wanker’s new business manager handle business meetings?


Night of the Jabberwock (book, 1950), Fredric Brown – Doc Stoeger claims he bought the house he grew up in purely because it was practical; and he very briefly mentions losing his fiancée to TB, and then never brings up the topic again. As the events of the novel show him to be considerably more sentimental than he’s willing to admit, I’d like to see some explorations of that side of him. Alternately, I'd be just as happy to watch Doc deal with another crazy local news story or two.

You can absolutely be the first for Yuletide and there are some properties I've been hoping it would happen with for years.

Have to already have a fic? That's new. I've nominated (and requested) the ficless fandoms several times. Most notably Chinese ghost poets.
