Fighting crime with your Wonder Gloves!

By co-incidence I just heard an Old Time Radio show, the "Juniper Lane" episode of "Let George Do It", where titular Lane was a weird little fiefdom in some back alley of New York City. The landlady had an annual Christmas party where everyone got a pair of "wristlets" (apparently the exact archaic term for these things), which she had knitted over the previous year. Just after this year's party she was found stabbed to death with her knitting needles! Whodunnit?
