Beautifully-manicured Fingers of DOOM!

Um, you know how recently on fandomsecrets several people have confessed to writing fanfic about a show they've never watched/game they've never played? Well, it's been a couple of years since I last watched S5 Buffy, and I've seen just enough of OFOtCN to know it's too triggery to watch in front of green_trilobite.

Nonetheless, this keeps happening. My main worry is whether I'm getting the tone of the dialogue right - most of the characters I'm basing off descriptions in wikipedia or people's lit-crit essays, and I suspect Ben is a little snarkier than he was on BtVS, but that's because I've discovered I don't like him much and I enjoy making him all passive-aggressive and manipulative.

I think I only watched Buffy for a season or two, sporatically. Crush on Giles, kick out of seeing Armin Shimmerman sans Ferengi make-up.
Cuckoo's Nest completes a weird trifecta for me in that I've seen Brad play characters where I wish I was his wife, daughter and with Billy, mother. lol. I think they'd have to make a whole new word up for a complex like that.

I get the impression that Billy's real problem is that he's so darn cute, every woman who lays eyes on him (be she his mother, Nurse Ratchett, or the audience) just wants to lock him up for safekeeping.

Poor ickle Billy.
There is a terrible SAVE BILLY! impulse all the way through...the first time I watched it I didn't know what was going to happen, and...yeah that was bad.
Even my little stuffed doll. I get the urge to knit him a tiny sweater in case he gets cold up on the shelf.
But I can't knit, and...well, he has no nerves.
