Job Hunt Follies of 2021
So one of the other job agencies I was in touch with turned out to have been hired by the same employer, to fill the same job that I didn’t get.
I’d actually half-suspected— the general location and description of the company, as well as the duties involved, were so similar— and now I wish I’d asked the agency “wait, is your client [name of company]?” and saved us all some time.
So apparently two different job agencies thought I was the most qualified candidate, but the employer thought I was overqualified. I guess the lesson here is that I need to apply for jobs I don’t feel qualified for.
