Just been let go

This does not really surprise me, and in many ways comes as a relief: I never got the sense my immediate supervisor was happy with my performance. Happily, the official reason for my termination is “restructuring,” so I continue to get pay and benefits for three weeks from the end of this week, and I qualify for EI.

I told them I’d stick around till the end of today, as there was a task in progress I wanted to complete. I’ll probably be just as happy to not have to leave the house for a bit, except to get groceries, and definitely not at 6:30 am, especially with the predicted drop in temperatures.

I am glad of that part, but still sorry about the rest.

Mixed blessing that it is, I'm still sorry for your job loss.

Rats. I'm sorry, though I'm glad it was the best version of this.

Made redundant

Too bad. On one hand you get to hunker down in these times of plague and polar vortexi whilst taking a vacation from the daily grind. On the other hand there's eventually the financial hit from having no job and the horror of the Job Hunt. A turning point in any case and I hope, in the end, a good one for you.
