I was at the grocery store yesterday,
...and there was a hiphop number playing in the background. After a while I started to pick up on some of the lyrics, and I think the artist was rapping about grocery-shopping—pretty sure there was a line about “organic radishes/without additives.”
He even name-dropped No Frills.
I’m not sure if Loblaws actually commissioned this as a jingle, or if it was all just coincidence; I mean, there are definitely rappers living in Toronto, presumably they have to pick up groceries like everyone else, and the common advice does say to “write what you know.”
