Sarah’s Adventures In Re-Routing Her Commute This morning Due to the Subway Being Shut Down

Apparently there are Dollar Trees in Canada? I saw two, both on Eglinton W.

I also saw a menswear shop that looked as though it had been there many decades, called HOUSE OF MOSS: FASHION’S LIMITED. Yes. Yes it is.

(It actually looked like a pretty good old-fashioned menswear store.)

There's a Dollar Tree about 15 minutes' walk from where I live. Others scattered across Ottawa, too.

Interesting, the Dollar Tree website only lists 3 in Toronto with but one of these on Eglinton West. I wonder if one of the ones you saw was a fake one like the "GoodWell" second hand store that used to be on Dundas West. Toronto is well stocked with C-list chain stores: Giant Tiger, B-Tree, Lady York, Jollibee and so on.

The venerable "House of Moss" has been there for at least two decades that I know of . Not even counting the places that cater to the Orthodox Jewish guys there are a lot of old school tailor shops in this 'hood. The sort of place where a little old man with a Yonkers accent and a tape measure around his neck comes out from the back and says "How about a nice tweed? You'd look good in Tweed and I just got some in yesterday!"
