Hexslinger fan art

Scribbled this weekend, scanned and coloured in Photoshop. Contains spoilers for A Rope of Thorns.

Songbird - I'm still trying to get the right balance of youth and malevolence here.

Chess Pargeter - ditto. That's The Enemy in the background - still working on how to portray him - at the moment he has an obsidian knife for a head.

Dr. Asbury, tampering with something he no doubt shouldn't.

Ixchel. Another version, but with a more sympathetic face - maybe this design should be Yiska instead.

Rev. Rook. I know handful_ofdust sees him as more of a Liam Neeson/Clancy Brown mix, but I can't help throwing in a little Robert Mitchum. Not sure this is it, though.

Yancey Colder in her bridal gown, and later in disguise, wondering how men can stand wearing these things.

Pa Colder, alive and as a plant-zombie.

Pinkerton - not really grotesque enough, though.

Sheriff Love, looking all super-heroic. Not sure if this is before or after he turns to salt.

Doc Glosser and Emmett. Yeah, you can tell which obscure characters I love. Unsure about Glosser's haircut.

Hey, man--these are really fun. In terms of Songbird, I remember doing preliminary research and Googling an image of Connie Chiu, a Chinese albino model, if that helps at all.

A little, though Chiu has more of a Tilda Swinton vibe to me.

One of the images I had in mind was a photo I saw a few years back in a gallery in the Junction, of two girls - sisters, presumably - one about seven and the other perhaps twelve, both albino and wearing red saris that matched their eyes.

Glosser and Emmet are exactly what I pictured. I love them. These are wonderful.

Thanks - I seem to find the supporting characters easier to draw than the main ones. Less riding on it, maybe.
