OK, I think it's a toss up between "Calder Tully" & "Jay Loden" as Tin Man's real name.

Meanwhile, in PI, Sid "the Squid" continues to be a fan of absurdist humour, as I
imagined yesterday that his favourite downloadable show is called I Love Rock. It is in fact about a man in love with a rock, but played as an old-fashioned sitcom, probably with a laugh track and everything. Sometimes I really don't get what goes on in my head.

Yes, laugh-tracks are strange. I was just watching some "Get Smart" episodes and the canned laughter seems odd now; although once-upon-a-time just about all the shows had them.

As people have pointed out over the years, the laugh track is particularly strange-when-you-think-about-it on animated cartoons, since there presumably wasn’t a live audience at Hanna-Barbara Studios watching the animators draw Scooby-Doo, or even listening to the recording sessions. However, if one can suspend one’s disbelief, there’s a weird comforting quality to being surrounded by an invisible friendly audience, even when you know they’re just a recording.
