Thoughts from My Morning Commute

1. Although she does not particularly resemble James Earl Jones, the model in the “Frizz-Ease” poster on the subway has a chin-tilted, heavy-lidded gaze that really reminds me of Thulsa Doom. She probably decapitated the hypnotized photographer moments after the shot was taken.

2. If I were male, I would probably suffer far more embarrassment from ghastly portmanteau terms like “manpris” and “mandals” than I would from actually wearing cropped trousers or sandals.

3. with regards to (2), I’m shocked to learn that sandals are considered feminine footwear. Someone better alert Ancient Greece, Rome, and Egypt, modern Japan, the Hippie generation, and Dr. Zoidberg. Also green_trilobite, who wears his Birks whenever the temperature permits, which this year means he switched back in April.

So, uh, I'm guessing manpris are man-capris ... though, I gotta level with you, I'm fuzzy on what capris are - and have nothing to do with this.

On the H.P. Lovecraft Literary Podcast they manage to mention Dr. Zoidberg every couple of episodes. "You know, when the narrator says 'And what a claw!' I keep hearing Dr. Zoidberg.. 'Oy, what a claw!'"

I would probably hear TMBG: "A claw is a claw...and no one has ever seen a talking claw...unless that claw is the famous, the famous Mr. Claw!"
