Just saw a PBS special about this sort of thing. A guy carried a light box down to the 150 ft. level to bedazzle Humboldt squids (about human-sized dwellers in the Depths). They initially attacked the shouty thing but then were just curious about it for a bit after it turned out not to be a squid. They also had some stuff on the two-faced, Blue Neon octopi. These guys flash "so you punks want to fight, eh?" symbols on the side facing away from their girlfriend but "heh baby, what's your sign?" symbols on the side facing her.
Still want to see the Mega-Shark vs. Giant Octopus (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Fa7ck5mcd1o) movie though.
I recently read there's a species of cuttlefish where the smaller males will pull the "dressing in drag so her husband doesn't suspect me" farcical ploy, i.e., they flash female colours so they can approach females without the larger males noticing and chasing them off - no word on whether farce logic prevails and they then find themselves having to fight off the other males' advances...
