Teeth Dream
Forgot to mention that I got a night-guard this week (I grind my teeth) but have not yet managed to keep it on through the night - as I never worn a retainer or had braces as a child, I find it very distracting and uncomfortable.
I think it also caused the dream last night in which Jack Nicholson handed me a watch that had teethmarks in it, and which opened up to reveal a dental mould (possibly his teeth? not sure). At the time this seemed hilariously funny, enough that I woke myself with laughing. Oh, that wacky Jack and his antics.

Jack The Joker
and turning it upside down!
Just saw his performance in "Batman" a few days ago and was reminded what a great casting choice he was there.

(Clips best listened to with headphones on if you have any denta-phobes in the room!)
The Dentist scene in the remake of LSOH was the only thing that they did better (or even as good as) the original.

But then, they did have Bill Murray *and* Steve Martin (as the fabulous Evil Dentist)

Re: Jack The Joker
That title reminds me - did you tell me a few months back about a film noir called Detour ? Because apparently Guy Madden coaxed the lead actress out of retirement to play his mother in My Winnipeg, which I haven't seen, but which theengineer says is good - although he's not sure if the City of Winnipeg knew what it was getting into when it asked Madden to make the film....
Re: Jack The Joker
For example, it pretty much invented having the protagonist voicing over the introduction to the flashback about his demise. The opening line of this was so good and that people hearing it think that it's the end evolution point of a lot of film noire but in fact it was endlessly imitated later - often in parody.
It was "Fate, or some mysterious force, can put the finger on you or me for no good reason at all." My favourite parody is "What did I do? Where did things go wrong? Was it stopping for that drink last night? Answering the phone in the hotel lobby? I shouldn't have picked up that wallet! But I did - now I can kiss off everything I thought was important. Forget the raise - hell, forget the job. Likewise the fur for Cathy and the trip out west. None of it matters. The future may not stretch another ten minutes. Why did this happen? Out of all the people in all these streets and in all these buildings - why am I the one being punished? Tell me, God - if you care at all - WHY ME?"
The only other thing I can immediately think of that works backwards like this is the "Lensmen" series where ideas off-handedly whizzed by you in two pages provide the ideas that other people have turned into trilogies: like invasions from other universes or 4D aliens.
