Haven't been reading my flist much of late - this worries me a little, because it suggests that the fear-of-narrative which keeps me away from fiction is spreading to letters and diaries as well, and could potentially end in my avoiding other people altogether.
May have to try winnowing flist down to RL friends for a while

Funnily, I find it soothing to read about the lives of people I don't know, and my lack of genuine contact with them makes me very magnanimous about their eccentricities. For example: It'd annoy the crap out of me that one of my flist never likes the same Springsteen songs I do if I actually had to interact with her; since I don't, I can just shake my head, laugh it off and say: "Oh, YOU. And you hate Coldplay, too? Trendy!"
