Is “Manifest” becoming crunchy-granola-speak for “Searching For?”

Saw a poster in my neighbourhood that asked “MANIFESTING A DOGWALKER?” and offered one with “good vibes.”

So far, the cases I've had to read for my contracts class have been throwing around the words "manifest[ing] intent" a lot, and I've found it hard not to read the phrase in a crunchy-granola sense rather than legalese.

The idea of "manifesting a dogwalker" sounds like it would get you one more used to walking Cerberus than, like, a dog with a normal amount of heads.

Manifesting is the opposite of searching for!
