Sooo… apparently my Tumblr account has been terminated?

Not sure if this is some new purge or a glitch. I did have one post that they kept flagging as inappropriate-- a drawing of one of

handful_ofdust ’s characters from the Hexslinger trilogy, who was indeed bare-breasted, and I decided I couldn’t be bothered to argue that by their own rules artistic nudity was supposed to be ok.

 

 

Googling “tumblr account terminated” doesn’t turn up a slew of recent news on the topic, so it’s probably a continuation of the ongoing crackdown rather than a new rule I’ve broken. Trying to decide whether or not it’s worth appealing – I’ll miss that hell-site, but probably not enough to deal with their staff.

ETA— Apparently it was a glitch! They’ve apologized and reinstated me. Here’s a celebratory picture:

Weird -- I updated my last comment to note that at least pictures I'd linked to in the past were still here, but the update seems to have vanished.

Anyway, I guess I'll look into Dreamwidth image-hosting. It's not like my posts are usually really picture-heavy.

I don't know what that means. Is Dreamwidth having trouble with Tumblr links generally?

Anyway, I guess I'll look into Dreamwidth image-hosting.

I know it's not at all the same thing as Tumblr's image-oriented format, but I have found it serviceable for posting occasional pictures of me, cities, and cats.

I don't think it's having trouble generally, but the way i'd been posting images here for the past little while was to post them on Tumblr, then link to the image I had placed there. It looks like anything I put up on Tumblr and embedded here is still visible, but if there's a link to the Tumblr post (to see more pictures, etc), it no longer works.

That's weird. Even images that were hosted solely at your now-deleted Tumblr and not reblogged from elsewhere?

Yeah. I'm guessing that if I embedded them here, Dreamwidth has a cached version?

Anyway, this means I have *some* of my textsfromoldmovies/textsfromtheSSR pictures, but not all (since I deleted the originals out of the photos on my iPad after posting them). Darn. I may have to appeal to Tumblr.

"Merde alors" according to Leo Marks in Between Silk and Cyanide was the SOE version of "Good luck!" (He also uses it roughly equivalent to "mazel tov," but I think he's the only person on staff who does.)
