Had a great time at Ad Astra yesterday -- I actually took notes on the presentations (Wrapping Sari, Fighting Women of Medieval Europe, and SF of the People's Republic of China) so I could look stuff up when I got home.
I wore the sort of thing I usually wear (my wax print dress and orange coat, and a beehive 'do), but everyone kept trying to figure out whom I was cosplaying; most guesses were Mad-Men-related, probably because of the beehive.

I also won a couple of draws/contests, and I was given some vintage sewing patterns. I'm not sure I want to know what was spilled long ago on the face of the girl in the pink dress. Perhaps she's reaching out to possess the soul of the one in white.
