More Movie Stuff
Yet another Thing I Didn't Know Until I Stumbled Across It on the Internet, earlier this evening: The Takarazuka all-female musical theatre did a version of Casablanca a couple of years ago. Let that sink in for a bit.
While it may seem strange at first to see a young Japanese woman in the Bogart role, it makes sense if you picture how Rick would likely be drawn as a manga/anime hero; unless it was the late Satoshi Kon (Perfect Blue, Millenium Actress, Tokyo Godfathers, Paprika) doing the drawing.
Now I'm really wishing Kon had made an animated Casablanca, because I actually think it would've been good.
