Realized this morning that the thing which annoys me about Facebook isn't the layout or whatever people are currently complaining about; it's being unable to speak to anyone I haven't friended - I keep coming across discussion threads I can see because I'm friends with one of the commenters, but can't join because I'm not a friend of the original poster. I suppose this limits trolling*, but it feels rather like I'm in one of those jokes about being unable to speak to someone because we haven't been introduced.....
* to be fair, the comment I wanted to post might have qualified as trolling - the conversation had already segued from "lamenting the proliferation of Che Guevera T-shirts" to "Damn kids these days wear Misfits T-shirts without knowing who the Misfits were." Given that example, I wanted to suggest that fans of 1940s adventure serials might make the same complaint about Misfits fans wearing the image of The Crimson Ghost.

That said, it -does- seem weird to me when I see teenagers wearing vintage-design Ninja Turtles shirts. I haven't revisited the cartoon at all, because I'm at least 50% sure it was actually terrible. Like He-Man. Christ, He-Man was awful. Which I guess I didn't realize as a two year old...
