Harvest

The place I work is a theatre supply warehouse, and the waiting area has magazines with titles like 'Stage Lighting Monthly*.' The most interesting article was about lighting Neil Young's latest concert tour (kind of a junkyard theme) - so then I thought 'hey, I don't actually know much about Neil Young**, I'll look him up.'

Fun facts about Neil Young:

Neil Young cannot be killed! Many forces have tried, including diabetes, drugs, a blood clot, an internet obituary for a different guy named Neil Young, and the last known polio outbreak in Ontario.

Neil Young loves model trains and blogs about them under the name "Clyde Coil." He invented a completely new system for controlling model trains for his son, who has CP.

Neil Young has directed movies as another of his alter egoes, "Bernard Shakey."

Neil Young has a spider named after him!***

* None of them are actually called Stage Lighting monthly.

** I keep confusing him with Gordon Lightfoot.

***Roy Orbison has a beetle, though AFAIK none of the Beatles do.

I love wacky trade magazines. I've got an issue of "Tactical Knife" magazine that I bought because of the letter column that started out with a guy extolling the virtues of this magazine over "all those other Knife magazines".
