Poetry as Turing Test

From the assortment of links an algorithm (I presume) places each day on my internet browser dashboard:

https://getpocket.com/explore/item/was-this-poem-written-by-a-computer-or-human?

Of the three pairs of poems quoted in the article, I guessed most of them wrong.

Weekend Update

OK, so, remember the gentleman at Dave Nickle's launch party Thursday night, who suggested I submit 'The Emmet' to Ellen Datlow? He emailed a couple of days later, saying "no, seriously, you should," and included her address and that of Stephen Jones. So with no excuse not to submit the story, I ran up some cover letters, and then discovered that upgrading to Snow Leopard has made my laptop unable to find the printer with both hands.

This, and needing to print out passport application forms as well, drove green_trilobite and myself to the Kinko's on Bloor Street, where we ran into handful_ofdust and family. She graciously agreed to sign the passport forms as guarantor (which I'd only just noticed we needed) and we all had a late lunch together.

So, today not a washout after all.

ETA - I've fixed the printer.

Computer stuff, webcomic

Managed to finish episode 24 yesterday morning despite the increasing unreliability of my laptop's trackpad, which takes all the pleasure out of drawing. Have now given in and reconnected my mouse.
