Possibly Hopeful News on the COVID-19 Front

The trial's still ongoing but results so far are encouraging-- note that this is according to the manufacturer, but they're advising caution (they mention that they still don’t know how long immunity produced by the shot will last) and they stand to lose a lot if they screw this up, so I’m inclined to believe this news.

altho the cold-chain logistics of the fact that the vaccine has to be kept in ultra-cold storage at below MINUS 80 Celsius is a NIGHTMARE.

I'm feeling very encouraged. I can't believe they would release this if they weren't very sure of their current data, and they're clear about what they don't know yet. Obviously there are the logistics problems, and this is unlikely to be the big solution for mass global vaccination programmes in the long-term. But that really high effectiveness is very interesting, especially if it lasts a long time, and might be a selling point in certain situations, e.g. people with high exposure.
